I Have just published 2 new eBooks for the Android platform. These books are free as they are ad-supported. I should have another eBook out before Valentines day for all of you romantics out there but you will have to wait for that one

The 2 recently published eBooks are both self help books which are both very relevant in today’s economic climate.

The first one is called Credit Card Society and is written to help you try and avoid credit card debt or if you are already burdened with said affliction then there is a guide on how to rid yourself of the debt.

The second one is called Impossible Is Just A Word and is a self help book for those unfortunate enough to suffer low self-esteem or self-worth. There are lots of examples of why people suffer from these problems, how to avoid them and also how to increase your self-esteem and feel in yourself that you can achieve the goals you set yourself.

You can install either (or both) of the eBooks simply by scanning the barcode image with your phone and following the instructions, or by clicking on the app link and selecting install. If you don’t have a barcode scanner on your phone you can get one from here.As mentioned above, both of these eBooks are ad-supported and I would appreciate it if you clicked on an ad now and again while you are reading.

This is a recipe I picked up on my travels to Turkey. Both myself and my wife really enjoy this dish and have served it to guests on numerous occasions.

Ingredients
Serves 2-3

6 large eggs

1 medium onion

1 pound skinned chopped tomatoes (or 1 tin chopped tomatoes)

4 ounces mild green chilli peppers

1 ounce margarine (it must be margarine, oil doesn’t work so well)

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

salt for seasoning

water

Cooking Instructions

Peel and finely slice the onion. Remove most (but not all) of the seeds from the chillis then slice them into rings, keeping as many seeds as required for hotness.

Melt the margarine into a large frying pan then add the onions & chillis. Sweat the onions until they become soft. Add the tomatoes and allow to reduce (at a fairly high heat) for approx 10 minutes. While the tomatoes are doing, beat the eggs with the salt and pepper.

When there is almost no liquid left in the tomatoes, add a small quantity of water and the beaten eggs. Stir the mixture until the eggs have all firmed up and the dish is ready to serve with crusty bread and a salad garnish.

The phone rang this morning, it was girl from a re-mortgage company. Conversation went like this.

Caller: Do you have a large mortgage on your home?
Me: No actually, I’ve nearly paid it all off.
Caller: Well then are you interested in consolidating all of your loans & credit cards into one easy payment?
Me: I’m sorry, but I don’t have any debts only my small mortgage
Caller: Ok then, how about a loan to make some home improvements?
Me: Funny that but I’ve just had some work done and I paid cash for it.
Caller: What about a new car sir? Are you considering a loan for a new car?
Me: I don’t need one, I’ve got a fairly new Ferrari in the garage next to my Triumph motorcycle.
Caller: Just one more question then sir. Are you looking for a wife?

This is a dish I have eaten regularly as a child and is most welcome on a cold winter night.

Ingredients
serves 4-6

1/2 pound of stewing steak

1/2 pound of breast of lamb

1 large onion

1 pound of carrots

5 pounds of potatoes

2 OXO cubes (beef stock cubes)

2 teaspoons of vegetable oil

Salt & Pepper

water

Cooking instructions
cooked slowly for approx. 4 hours

Dice the meat into large cubes & lightly brown in the vegetable oil.

Place meat into a large saucepan, chop onion into large chunks and add to the meat. Add sliced carrots and 1 pound of finely chopped potatoes.

Half fill saucepan with cold water and then crumble the stock cubes into the water. Add salt & pepper to season.

Simmer for 2 hours, stiring occasionally. Peel the remaining potatoes and chop roughly, add these to the saucepan and simmer for another 2 hours.

Serve hot with crusty bread.

The Scouse can be made in advance and kept covered & refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in a saucepan.

The dish usually tastes better after being reheated.

After a couple of years of this site laying dormant because my home server went AWOL, I have decided to resurrect the site in a new guise. The content should be varied covering such subjects as hobbies, food and drink but also anything the Absolutely Average human might find interesting.

I envisage that a considerable amount of the content will be about my endeavours in developing apps for the mobile phone market. Anybody interested in mobile phone development (or for that matter) any form of computer development could learn from my experiences both past and future. I intend providing tutorials from the basics right through to the really technical. As the site grows I will be adding forums and other features to make it easier for everyone reading.
